CARAMEL PECAN BARS

BAKING TIME: 17 mins

OVEN TEMP: 350°F

INGREDIENTS For the bars:

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 yellow cake mix

  • 4 cups (1 lb) broken pecans

INGREDIENTS For the topping:

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Pinch salt

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream


Directions:

  1. Line a 17” jelly roll pan with non stick foil.

  2. In a food processor, cut the butter into the yellow cake mix.

  3. Press into pan and spread the pecans on top.

  4. Combine next 6 ingredients (topping ingredients) in a sauce pan and boil for 3 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream.

  6. Pour over pecans.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 17 minutes until bubbly.
